Fewer folk at the gym this morning so figured people had headed off for a long weekend, yesterday being a holiday.
Clearly not so. The buses were packed, the excellent Berthe Morisot show at Musee Marmottan Monet,www.marmottan.com, was beyond packed and the streets around St. Germain des Pres are teeming. Oh, well, good for the economy here.
Lunch at Philou, although a bit of a trek, was all the hype and more, a real find and a real keeper. Another excellent place along the Canal in the 10th arr.
Spent the evening walking around, enjoying ourselves.
- Philou, part of a burgeoning resto scene in the 10th arr. along the Canal St. Marin.
- The Duke of Valmy’s hunting lodge in the old days; right next to Bois de Bolougne.
- Les roses.
- Mallard in pool at St. Sulpice; I seem to be at 1 and a half with nature today instead of my usual 2 (as Woody Allen said). And no,this isn’t dinner although with a few oranges…
- Wallace fountain at Place St. Sulpice
