The usuals at the gym, meaning that for an hour’s workout, half the time was spent waiting for someone to finish reading their paper and move to another machine or bench. The usual techno-pop, too. (Think Kylie Minogue, nah, maybe not. Even the awful Gerry Rafferty, “Baker Street” tune from the 70s, made even worse by updating it, so to speak.)<\/p>\n
Got some stuff for dinner at the\u00a0Bio-march\u00e9\u00a0<\/em>on the way back including a\u00a0baguette nature<\/em>. Have to say that I prefer the regular, crusty stuff from any\u00a0boulanger<\/em>.<\/p>\n Was thinking that as our French got better, we started eschewing the Anglo guidebooks (most of which have already been shipped back to Toronto) in favour of the French ones, even from Figaroscope, where they interview someone once a week to talk about his or her\u00a0quartier<\/em>. In our\u00a0quartier\u00a0<\/em>at home, we could talk about Pusateri’s instead of, say, the March\u00e9 d’Aligr\u00e9, the new Vintages store on Avenue Road instead of\u00a0le Marchand de Vin\u00a0<\/em>but you get the idea…Not that I’m complaining or anything.<\/p>\n We saw an excellent\u00a0production of\u00a0M\u00e9d\u00e9e (\u00c9lodie Navarre\u00a0etait\u00a0superbe<\/em>!)\u00a0<\/em>in the 20th arr., Sandy having already read the play (in French,\u00a0bien s\u00fbr<\/em>), then had a quiet evening at home.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
