Both\u00a0in the grip of\u00a0<em>la grippe<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from a late dinner at the Deuce, Sandy worked a lot, I worked a little and we did little else but sleep and read.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, I did the NYT crossword. When I asked the newsagent last Friday to hold Saturday&#8217;s IHT for me and gave him my name, he jokingly said, &#8220;<em>Comme le militaire<\/em>?&#8221; referring, in a surprisingly knowledgeable cross-cultural reference, to Ulysses S.
