Rue St. Jacques crosses Blvd. St. Germain around the gym so I thought I’d take a photo or two. It seems to me that almost anyone can be a good photographer here (although I saw a website recently where the pix were spectacular) because there is so much that is pleasing to the eye almost everywhere, at least in vieux Paris. Even the Cluny-La Sorbonne station has a lovely mosaic in it with famous writers’ signatures also in mosaic.<\/p>\n
Along the Canal St. Martin (10th arr.), there are a number of small, excellent restos with terrific chefs, often from other more well-known places. Le Verre Vole is, in fact, a wine shop and if you have lunch or dinner there, they add at 7 euro charge to your wine, making today’s wine all of 25 euros!<\/p>\n
After lunch on our one exposition\/day rule, amidst snow\/rain and then sunshine, we saw a show on Paris and Music with some great photos\/posters and songs. At the Galeries des Bibliotheques,\u00a0www.paris-bibliotheques.org<\/a>, on Rue Malher in the Marais.<\/p>\n That was also inclement weather brought us in for a chocolat chaud at Jacques Genin (we were on the way by), right up there with Angelina (finally) although I’d give the latter the edge.<\/p>\n Charlotte invited us out with friends (both lawyers) to Le Repaire de Cartouche (11th) and had a fun evening, the\u00a0service not as bad as the food bloggers had described it. Maybe it was because our table was predominantly Francophone, who knows?<\/p>\n\n\t\t
