Traffic out of Fiumicino north was horrendous and took us longer than it ought to get to Borgo di Vagli,www.clubborgodivagli.com<\/a>, about 2 hours northeast of Rome.<\/p>\n

Stopped at the lovely hillside town of Cortona, where we’d been once before, for a stroll around. Apart from it’s charm,\u00a0it has a terrific wineshop, Molesini (dal 1937),\u00a0www.molesini-market.com<\/a>, although thinking we’d be back this trip, I foolishly neglected to buy the 2004 Poggio di Sotto Brunello Riserva, just sitting on the shelf.<\/p>\n

We had a nice lunch outdoors on the patio at La Locanda nel Loggiato,\u00a0www.locandanelloggiato.it<\/a>, before heading to Borgo, about 18km from Cortona.<\/p>\n

We were met by a wild boar on the way in, unpacked and wandered around the attractive grounds before having a much-needed nap.<\/p>\n

Sat on our own patio and had salumi and cheese and wine as we watched the sun set.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
